Aquatots was started by Fiona Munt-Whittle FIOS as the culmination of fourteen years of swimming teaching experience on her own children. Fiona now uses exactly the same techniques in Aquatots classes.

Fiona and one of her children were competitive swimmers competing at Club,County and National level. Aquatots has been created through the love of swimming and the fun gained from the medium of water.

"I learned to swim when I was 3, and have always loved it. My interest in teaching started 22 years ago, with my first child. Despite his severe learning difficulties and epilepsy, he was swimming on his back at nine months! Teaching is the perfect job, combining my love of swimming and children."

Leaving a career in Business banking to start a family, Julie took the opportunity to train as an Aquatots teacher after introducing her two children to swimming through Aquatots. Julie is a keen swimmer and holds the ASA swimming teacher and NRASTIC national pool lifeguard qualification.

"This job was made for me as it combines my love of sport with the satisfaction of working with children."

When not in a swimming pool or looking after children, Julie is a dedicated member of Bretforton Ladies Hockey Club and is Vice Captain for the second eleven team.

After 17 years in the insurance industry in London, Ann gave up work to start a family. Ann moved to this area from Sussex in 2002 and quickly found Aquatots. She joined the team in 2003 and is a qualified ASA Swimming teacher and NRASTIC lifesaver.

"Watching parents see their children move freely in water for the first time is the best reward you can get from this job" says Ann.

After working with children for seven years and always competing and participating in various sports, I saw Aquatots as the perfect opportunity to work within two of the areas I have enjoyed the most.

I have been a qualified swimming teacher for 4 years, teaching young children and adults in the South Birmingham area. In August 2006 I joined the Aquatots team and began training in the Aquatots methods. I am now in my 4th term of teaching and have not looked back, I belive baby submersion is a great introduction to a safe and fun future in the pool.

After her graduation, Alyson gained her PGCE from Bristol and worked as a Senior Teacher in Gloucestershire until the birth of her son.

As a student she was a keen swimmer and worked on the poolside as a Lifeguard and Assistant Teacher. "It seemed only natural to encourage my child to swim from the earliest possible opportunity" she commented. Alyson then enrolled onto the Aquatots programme as a mum.

She joined the team a year later when qualified as an ASA Full Teacher, having completed the Aquatots training course. Alyson holds the NRASTIC lifesaving qualification.

Aly has unfortunately emigrated to Denmark following her Husbands job relocation to Legoland.  We wish her well in her new life, and will miss her very much.
