Poolside Assistant/Escort - Cirencester

Aquatots Swimming Ltd requires Poolside Assistant(s) to assist in the smooth running of their Baby Swimming Classes at their Hydrotherapy pool in Cirencester. The successful applicant(s) must have excellent communication & customer services skills. 

Dates:        8 or 9 week terms 4 times a year (Term time only) Allow for 1 extra week in case of cancellations

Time:         Mondays and Thursdays 9.30am - 1pm      

                  Fridays 9.30 - 11.15am

                  Saturday   8.45am – 1.30pm (optional)

Salary:       Minimum Wage.

Specific Duties


  • To remove the pool cover (once shown) and help the Teacher as required.
  • To collect parents from the lobby once they have signed in and escort them across the school and back again (via the designated route the school have advised)
  • On the first, (2nd) week of a new term to read the health and safety rules to our parents/or to give them a health and safety quiz, informing them also of where the fire exits are etc.. (following on; if any parents miss week 1 to remind them also of their obligations)
  • To erect the playpens in both changing rooms on arrival and to check the overall cleanliness of the floors and the changing beds before parents arrive.
  • To manage spectators on poolside by ensuring visitors have been signed in and enter the pool area at the correct time.
  • To direct parents into the correct changing rooms and ensure Aquatots health & safety requirement are adhered to.
  • To mop between lessons, when required, to keep them clean and free of water.
  • Promote Aquatots offers as directed by the Aquatots Office. To assist at re-booking

Aquatots Swimming is looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated Swim Teachers considering a rewarding and satisfying career teaching young babies and toddlers to swim through a structured and fun programme.
We offer:
  • Structured on-going training & support
  • £18.50 per hour starting salary, when teaching solo (£20.72 including holiday pay)
  • Approx. 10 - 15 hours per weeks once fully trained (term time only)

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of Level I ASA teaching qualification with a commitment to qualify for the Level II before teaching solo.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including after school ( 3pm - 6pm) & weekends - term time only
  • NPLQ or NRASTIC life saving qualification
  • Excellent communication skills.
